Osteopathy is a method of diagnosis and treatment which is primarily concerned with the structural and mechanical failures of the body which give rise to pain and disability - usually relating to problems of bones, muscles, tendons and ligaments.

However because it is holistic in nature it also takes into account all the body’s systems (e.g. cardiovascular), the person and their lifestyle. Osteopaths work mainly with their hands using a wide variety of techniques such as soft tissue massage, gentle stretching and release of muscles, passive mobilisation of joints, rhythmical rocking movements and manipulation.

Individuals with sports injuries will often continue to do classes or train in an attempt to work the problem off. Whilst this can be successful occasionally, more often than not it makes the problem worse as other parts of the body compensate for the original injury.

      Classes

      ASHTANGA YOGA: A dynamic and challenging method of yoga combining various postures together.

      AQUACISE/LIQUID BLISS: An aerobic workout using weights and the water as resistance. Suitable for non-swimmers.

      BODY BALANCE: A 45 - 60 minute dynamic yoga based stretch programme. It combines fundamental principles and practices of yoga, pilates and tai chi.

      BODY COMBAT: A 45 - 60 minute class that combines powerhouse moves and stanced developed from a range of self-defence disciplines including karate, kickboxing, tai chi, and tai kwon do. It is an empowering athletic workout that will leave you fighting fit in record time!

      BODY CONDITIONING: Free weights and body toning class to music. No choreography. Helps reduce body fat and increase muscle definition.

      BODY PUMP: A 45 - 60 minute non impact resistance training programme, which utilises barbells and adjustable weights helping to improve muscular strength and endurance. It is a studio based group session which is led by highly skilled, motivating instructors who receive ongoing training to ensure every class is safe, effective and fun.

      CARDIO SCULPT: A well combined cardio vascular and body conditioning class! A great start for the day!

      CIRCUIT TRAINING: Short bursts of intense varied activity to work the whole body.

      STEP BEG/ALL: Step to it! A beg class, whilst toning and defining those lower parts during this workout.

      STEP INT: A choreographed cardiovascular and fat burning workout. Excellent for shaping the lower body.

      FIT FUSION: A combination of Aerobics and Step which will be easy to follow but challenging. Excellent for fat burn, and toning the whole body.

      GET ACTIVE! A 45 minute session of gentle aerobics, and a 15 min nutrition talk after the class (in reception area)

      HATHA YOGA: A yoga class that includes breathing, various postures, relaxation and meditation techniques.

      IYENGAR YOGA: A straightforward but structured Yoga class – improves posture, flexibility, alignment and general body strength.

      KICKBOXING: Martial Arts based to improve overall toning, particularly legs and upper body. Also a great cardio workout.

      NEW BODY: A low impact fat burning class incorporating hand held weights to sculpt the upper body muscles and increase the intensity. An overall workout!

      PILATES: A specialized exercise technique that focuses on core muscle strength (entire trunk of the body). This class is excellent for improving posture & strengthening the back. Also improves flexibility, co-ordination and slims the muscles.

      PRE/POST NATAL: Conditioning/aerobic class for all expectant mums or those who’ve just had a baby. You can also bring your baby into the class. (age up to crawling)

      RAJA YOGA: A spiritual, slow-paced class, particularly suitable for seniors.

      SALSAEROBICS: Add a twist to your workout! Fun choreographed aerobics

      STUDIO SLOT (6 WEEKS): These will be specialized classes that will be taught in a block of 6 weeks. The co-ordinator runs training courses like belly dancing, tai chi, and street dance so you get small group sessions over a period of time. These will be paid sessions.

    Sports Bra Information

    Why do I need a sports bra?

    Breasts are supported by the Coopers Ligaments, not muscle and unfortunately any form of exercise/movement means these ligaments will stretch causing breasts to sag.

    The ligaments will never go back to their original position. We therefore need to invest in a supportive sports bra which reduces movement by over 50%. There really is no point toning your legs and increasing your cardio fitness if you have droopy boobs at the end of it! You will also feel very uncomfortable if well endowed and not supported.

    But I already have a number of bras at home!

    PureLime Sports Bras are made from a premium fabric -“Tactel Aquator”. This is a moisture wicking, super soft polyamide designed to reduce irritation and allow freedom of movement and our breathable mesh panels and seam free cups prevent chaffing. Underwear made of cotton or polyester mix will hinder your workout resulting in a soggy, uncomfortable bra.

    Choosing the right bra for your workout

    Style 061 – Sports Top/Medium Impact:

    Available in sizes S, M, L, XL.
    Black and white option.
    Ideal for low impact activities such as lifting light weights or if you are less than a B cup
    This would be suitable for jogging/walking.

    Style 090 – Support Bra/Medium Impact:

    Available in 32, 34, 36, 38 and cups B,C,D,E.
    Black and white option
    Ideal for low impact aerobics, spinning, gym work, yoga and pilates.

    Style 091 – Support Bra/High Impact:

    Available in 32, 34, 36, 38 and cups B,C,D,E.
